Dear God, don't let me make a fool of myself last night at the dinner. it was not my fault that as the Rabbi spoke to me during the individual prayers the fire alarm went off.

The Eternal Flame didn't go out, that's good, right?

But please, have mercy on me on this day. Don't make me bang my leg on the bimah again. Let me hit all the high notes. Let US get that ending note, please please please.

And don't let me faint. I don't think I could handle it if I fainted.

Ok, maybe I could, but it would put a damper on the whole occasion and I would be embarrassed.
